On Wednesday, the Pattaya Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Capt. Tidiwat Boon-on were called to investigate an accident on Pattaya’s Third Road, near Central Pattaya, in front of Porn’s Vietnam Food Restaurant. The police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team rushed to the scene, and a brand new white Chevrolet with red plates was found crashed on to the sidewalk, after smashing into a motorcycle and then six more bikes, all seen in ruins on the side of the road. The restaurant’s sign and a marble table were also destroyed.
Luckily, the owners of the 6 wrecked motorcycles were safe, as they were sitting outside eating when the Chevrolet careened over the sidewalk and onto their bikes. However, the owner of a motorcycle that was wrecked and underneath the car, was a grilled pork ball vendor with a sidecar, and he had slipped into a coma after the accident. Witnesses stated that the Chevrolet was charging along at extreme speed, as if the driver were very drunk. The driver crashed into the back of the pork ball vender, and dragged the vender and motorcycle underneath the car as the momentum of the sedan pushed the car onto the sidewalk.
There was no sign of the Chevrolet driver. Witnesses also reported that a black Vigo pickup, which was following the Chevy, stopped and picked up the driver and fled the scene. The police network was alerted to search for the Vigo, but found no sign of the truck that evening. Further investigations will be made a bit easy, as the police can start with the registration of the Chevrolet.
