Banglamung Police Road Check after Spate of Bike Thefts in Area - Pattaya People

Banglamung police set up one of their regular road checkpoints on Monday afternoon at the Railway crossing road to Soi Khao Noi.  The aim, as always, is to monitor traffic and suppress violations such as motorcyclists not wearing safety helmets or not carrying any ID.  Since there has been a recent high spate of motorcycle theft in the area, ownership documents were demanded to be seen.   Many stopped could not provide such evidence, so were either fined or in suspicious cases the bikes were impounded and riders taken back to the police station for further questioning. Of course, the other aim of this operation is to help crackdown on criminal activities, especially those involved in drug trafficking and drug addicts.
