Shot in the Leg, Snatcher Surrenders - Pattaya People

On Monday night, the Banglamung Police Suppressing Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Supachat Piammanat were called to track down snatchers who had fled the scene of their crime. The snatching happened on Soi Porn-pra-pa-ni-mit 6 on the Nongprue side.

At the scene, the victim Miss Parichat Pontai, aged 26 was waiting for the police. She stated that she was attacked by 2 men on a motorcycle while driving her red-black Yamaha Nuvo motorcycle home, which was about 100 meters down the road. The 2 men kicked her motorbike until it fell over, then kicked her once more, before snatching her silver-gold-copper necklace with a Buddha image. The creeps then jumped on their motorcycle and proceeded to flee the scene.

Luckily, an off duty Pattaya tourist police officer witnessed the incident, and chased the motorcycle while radioing for backup. The snatcher jumped off the bike seat and ran into a bushy area nearby, while the driver took off and hi-tailed it away from the scene. A bit later, a resident informed the police that the suspect was climbing up the roof of a house, trying to hide. So the off duty tourist police chased the thief, and shot 1 bullet into the suspect’s leg, causing him to surrender. The suspect, identified as Mr. Arahn Pumisang, aged 22, was sent to Banglamung Hospital, while the police started tracing his associate to bring him to justice, and find the evidence to return to Miss Parichat.
