Pattaya Packed by Tourists for Loy Krathong - Pattaya People

On the full moon of Wednesday night, over 2 km of Pattaya Beach was packed by tourists and locals with their Krathongs, the handmade floating flower and candle offerings to be sent out to sea after the proper prayers were performed.

Pattaya City Hall held its Loy Krathong festivity at Balihai Pier, where many stage performances and the Nopamart Beauty Pageant, along with the Nopamart Girls Competition, were presented.

The Kratongs Contest was also a highlight of Pattaya City Hall’s celebration, with students from many schools entering their kratongs in hope of bringing home a prize. Many of the students also found the energy and inspiration to bring their talents to the Bali Hai stage as well.

The traffic did become paralyzed on several main thoroughfares during the evening. Travelers had to endure backups on Pattaya Beach Road, Second Road South Pattaya Road, and even Siam Country Club Road for most of the evening, which only cleared up late at night.
