Robbery at Apartment Block in South Pattaya - Pattaya People

Pattaya police were called out on Thursday morning to investigate a robbery at an apartment block on Soi Korpai in South Pattaya.  At the 4 storey building, officers visited the lobby area where 36 safety boxes had been broken into and all valuables, including currency, documents and gold, had been stolen with an estimated value of 1 million baht.   Police believe it was a calculated robbery as the thief also took the CCTV video data and spare keys to the boxes.   The security guard was found semi-unconscious as if he had been drugged.  Apparently, according to a tenant he was seen earlier drinking with a Middle Eastern man called Akon, who was a frequent visitor to a tenant at the building.  Police are now interrogating all the tenants and staff to learn more about this mysterious figure from the Middle East.  The case continues.
