FPV New Year Party at Mercure Hotel - Pattaya People

The FPV or Foreign Police Volunteers at the Pattaya and Banglamung Police Stations held their New Year’s Party on Friday evening at the Mercure Hotel in Soi 15 off Pattaya Second Road. FPV officers were joined by their spouses and family members to enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet and relax and socialize together. The FPV have members from 25 different nations who provide their time on a volunteer basis to give something back to the community by assisting the Royal Thai Police force in dealing with foreigners who for one reason or another come to the police stations. They receive continued training and work under a Manual of Procedures that stipulates exactly what they are expected to do and what they can’t do in their time of duty. It is indeed a much disciplined law enforcement group. Representatives of the FPV leadership spoke to the members and congratulated them for their excellent performance in the past year and explained about the changes in duties that would be implemented in 2013. So far the duties of the FPV has been primarily inside police stations; in the future we are going to see FPV officers more on duty outside patrolling various areas of Pattaya.
