South African Commits Suicide at Shooting Range - Pattaya People

Pattaya police were notified by medics from Pattaya Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon that a shooting incident had occurred at a shooting range on Soi 8 on Beach Road.   At the Pattaya Inter 87 Shooting Range, officers found Mr. Jonathan Osborn Koch, aged 43 from South Africa, lying face down on the ground.  He had shot himself in the right temple with a 9mm automatic gun belonging to the Shooting Range.  He was rushed to Pattaya Memorial but was pronounced dead on arrival.  Staff at the range stated that the man came in and rented the gun to practice.  Instead, he immediately pointed the gun at his temple and fired.  A full investigation is now underway and the South African embassy in Bangkok has been notified.
