Praising King Chulalongkorn - Pattaya People

On Wednesday at the King Chulalongkorn Statue in Sriracha, the Memorial Day for HM King Rama 5, Sriracha’s Sheriff Mr. Wichai Sampantarat led hundreds of people to pay respect to King Chulalongkorn.  His followers showed their gratitude for the many key accomplishments of HM King Chulalongkorn, who ceased the Slavery system in Thailand and freed hundreds of thousands of Thais. The great king also improved many other aspects of Thai society, including education, the military, and medicine.

As October 23rd was the day King Chulalongkorn passed away, it is registered as a special government holiday to praise this grand king of Thailand.  King Chulalongkorn has been bestowed the title of Mah?r?ja, which is the Sanskrit  title for a "great king" after his royal name. There are only 3 kings of Thailand who have received the title of Mah?r?ja, King Rama 1, King Rama 5, AKA King Chulalongkorn and King Rama 9, who is the current great king of Thailand.
