Major Bike Bandit Nabbed by Pattaya Police - Pattaya People

On Wednesday, right before midnight, the Pattaya Police led by Suppressing Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Chitdecha Songhong were called by Mr. Anucha Toe-moot-bam-roong, aged 35, to report that he had apprehended a man who rented his motorcycle but then refused to return it to him. He had cornered the thief on Pratamnak Hill road, near Siam the Bay Shore Hotel, and when the officers arrived at the scene, they found that Mr. Anucha had apprehended a male foreigner, aged 35-40 with a white Honda PCX motorcycle.

Anucha alleged that this foreigner rented this motorcycle in mid June for 1 week, for 1,400 baht plus 2,000 baht deposit, under the name Mr. Alex Hoge from Norway.

For weeks, Anucha tried to locate Alex, but his mobile phone number was disconnected. Fortunately for Anucha, he saw this foreigner driving the rented bike on Wednesday.

After the police took the suspect to the Pattaya Police Station, the news of this bike thief’s arrest spread, and 5 bike rental business owners turned up at the police station. All identified this man as the one who stole their motorcycles, and it turned out that over 20 rental businesses had lost their motorcycles to this man.

During the preliminary investigation, the police revealed that this foreigner carried 3 passports, and even claimed that the bike belonged to his friend. Further investigations continue.
