Raping and Robbery Suspects Cornered - Pattaya People

On December 26th 2 female Russian tourists were robbed and raped. The suspects robbed the victims in Soi Pratamnak 2, and took them to Chark-nok Reservoir in Huay Yai where they raped them. These thugs have been on the loose ever since.

On Tuesday morning, the Nongprue Police, led by Superintendent Pol. Col. Somneuk Jangaid, in companied by the Deputy Commissioner of Royal Thai Police Bureau Region 2 Pol. Maj. Gen. Sanchai Chai-ya-am-porn and Police Commander of Chonburi Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha Tartsart searched a house on Soi Mab-yai-lia 33, of a suspect called Mr. Wichain Jaija, aged 30-35. The 2 victims went to the house and positively identified the blue Toyota Mighty X pickup as the vehicle used to abduct them.

The police requested the owner of this pickup, the ex-wife of Wichain, to go for an interrogation at Nongprue’s Police Station along with the other 2 male suspects.

On the same day, Wichian was arrested and detained. The officers had determined that Wichain and his partner in crime had raped and robbed the 2 female victims while a male teenager watched the road. Further interrogations will be done to nail Wichain, which will certainly involve the 2 victims ID’ing the suspect as the next step towards his prosecution.

Attempted armed robbery at South Pattaya Gold Shop

pattya city
A woman desperate to raise money to pay for medical care for her seriously ill Father, was arrested after she attempted an armed robbery at a South Pattaya Gold Shop on Sunday Night. Police were called to the See Tong Kum Gold Shop on the South Pattaya Road and arrested Khun Nisar aged 23 and seized a knife used by the suspect during the attempted robbery. She was placed in handcuffs and Police were powerless to stop local market vendors and friends of the shop owner from assaulting her. Eventually Police took back control and determined that she had walked into the shop and demanded the owner, Khun Somsee aged 49, hand over gold necklaces as quickly as possible. At this point, nearby market vendors saw what was happening and detained the suspect until Police arrived. Khun Nisar confirmed that her Father needed an urgent heart operation, but when asked where her Father was residing, she refused to answer and broke down in tears. Police later charged the woman with attempted armed robbery and she remains locked-up pending Court proceedings.
