Bizarre incident involving Ministry of Commerce officials at Pattaya Police Station

Officials from the Ministry of Commerce seized hundreds of counterfeit branded items at an unknown location in Pattaya on Tuesday Night and did their best to prevent journalists from publishing the story. Earlier in the night a Baht Bus full of the seized items arrived at the back of Pattaya Police Station and officials began to offload black bags full of clothing items reportedly seized earlier in the night. When they saw journalists they put the bags back on the Baht Bus and drove off. They were then seen to return to Pattaya Police Station and dumped the bags in front of the main reception. When asked if anyone had been arrested, they said the owner of the shop was able to escape. During the reporting process at the Police Station, journalists were not allowed to film but were able to determine the seizure was made from an unnamed shop on Pattaya Second Road. Journalists were puzzled as to why they were being prevented from filming the case and are now trying to find out more details.

Accident Involving Police Van and Truck - Pattaya People

Police were notified by the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team on Thursday evening that a truck had overturned after a collision involving a police van on Sukhumvit Road in the Jomtien area.   At the scene, the driver of the truck was being given treatment for a minor injury.  The other victim, a police officer from Panatikom police station, had already been sent to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya with serious head wounds.  Before being taken to hospital the driver of the truck Mr. Apiwat, stated that as he was going home to Sattahip the police pickup suddenly came up behind and hit the rear of his truck, causing both to lose control and turn over on this busy stretch of road. A report was made and a full investigation is now underway.
